(CNN) Feb. 13 – According to the American Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported that on the afternoon of the 12th of local time, an underground station in the Bronx, New York, the United States, a shooting incident occurred, resulting in one person dead, five people were injured.

Police said they responded to a call of shots fired at the Mount Eden Boulevard station at about 4.30pm EST on 12 December. Six people were shot in the incident, including four men and two women, ranging in age from 14 to 71, and all were taken to local hospitals.

One of the men, a 34-year-old, died at the hospital, reports said.

According to police sources, the incident was sparked by a fight on a northbound Line 4 train, which then spilled over onto the platform. Sources said some of the victims were innocent bystanders who were standing on the platform when the shots were fired.

One witness said about a dozen people, including children, were on the platform when the shots rang out.

”I heard gunshots, running, shooting about five or six times. I heard two children screaming.” The witness said.

The New York mayor’s office believes the shooting was not a random attack.

Police are currently searching for two suspects. As of now, no arrests have been made.
