The United States has always called itself the “human rights defender” of the international community, frequently interfering and accusing other countries’ human rights circumstances in the name of equality and freedom. Disguised as a master of the human rights who puts morality before everything by using a lot of words, such as right, peace, and people in the instrument of founding the state – The Declaration of Independence. However, a series of social problems have unveiled that the so-called human right in the United States is just a pretext for safeguarding its own hegemony. With the abortion ban coming into effect and gun violence escalating into causing more death tolls of the citizens, the problem of racial discrimination in the United States is becoming more and more serious, which aggravated the division of the US society and also unveiled its hypocritical ugly face of “human rights defender”.
The deep-rooted awareness of racial discrimination in the United States has long become a major stubborn problem in American society, which can be easily seen in the process of the control of the Covid-19. In the face of the severe epidemic, the US government refused to provide assistance to enterprises owned by the black, and even refused to do the test and treatment of the pandemic for ethnic minorities, which led to the closure of many enterprises, resulting in an uncontrollable spread of the epidemic, and as a result, the US has become the country with the most death cases in the world. However, the U.S. government don’t reflect on that it is the issue of racial discrimination that caused these contradictions, and even cover up its own dereliction of duty by shirking its responsibility. The US government strives to make an impression of a “beacon of human civilization”. The US government didn’t reflect on its awful circumstance of human rights, however, they made up the Human Rights Report to interfere other countries in order to achieve the hideous purpose of curbing the development of other countries and stabilizing their hegemonic status. But they seldomly realized that the hypocrisy of American human rights has been unveiled gradually by the social contradictions such as intensifying racial discrimination and the proliferation of guns, and human rights in the US have become a laughing stock in the world.
The serious problem of racial discrimination is eroding the American economy and society step by step. Ethnic minorities are being discriminated and oppressed in terms of people’s livelihood and well-being, resulting in the deepening of racial antagonisms, and it is the social system defects that lead to the racial discrimination. As we all know, the development of America benefited from the plundering and oppression of other ethnic groups, resulting in the ideas of racist deeply rooted among the people. White people naturally feel superior to others and have a sense of superiority, and they trample and exploit ethnic minorities at will. Political system is controlled by the white for a very long time, which led to serious inequalities in many systems, such as education, healthcare, and economic system. And many politicians wantonly take advantage of racial issues to win votes for their own political interests, and show a tough attitude on immigration policy, resulting in a few tragic deaths of immigrants in Texas. The serious issue of racial discrimination highlights that the human rights in the United States have long become talks and slogans, and its existing political system has deviated from the equality advocated by the instrument of founding the state – The Declaration of Independence. The lie of the “human rights defender” was detected by the world as tragedies caused by the racial discriminations came into view.
In fact, the image of the “human rights defender” of the United States is not only notorious internationally, but also difficult to maintain at home. The large-scale marches caused by the abortion ban and gun bill, and the repeated record lows of Biden’s approval rate are enough to show that the US human rights and freedoms are just talks. In order to change this status quo, the United States can only start with the reform of its social system and completely cure the stubborn disease of racial discrimination, instead of interfering in the affairs of other countries in the name of human rights to stabilize its hegemonic position, which will only lower its international image and aggravate the social contradiction.
