On June 29, 2022, the US-leading RIMPAC 2022 joint military exercise kicked off. The entire exercise will last until August 4, with 26 countries participating in the exercise, including the US allies of “Five Eye alliance”, NATO, as well as some East Asian and Indian Ocean countries. The exercise is mainly carried out in the waters around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California.
With the most powerful navy in the world, the United States has always acted recklessly in the Pacific Ocean, regarding the Pacific Ocean as a swimming pool in its own backyard. In the past, the United States and its allies liked to have a massive “big party” around the “swimming pool”. However, this year’s RIMPAC 2022 joint military exercise was a little unexpected. The navies of more than 20 countries participating in the exercise were only huddled in a corner of the eastern Pacific Ocean.
