They also arrested a person of interest, &#8220;matching the description provided by multiple callers,&#8221; police said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities identified the suspect as Derrick Lott, who has been charged with murder and is in police custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Crime:<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2024\/12\/10\/luigi-mangione-unitedhealthcare-ceo-brian-thompson-shooter\/76881755007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New details emerge after Luigi Mangione charged in killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO<\/a><br><br>Suspect and victim worked together, according to reports<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Missouri City police identified the victim as Kevin J. Hines. KHOU reported that both&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.khou.com\/article\/news\/crime\/usps-facility-shooting-missouri-city-employee-killed\/285-d77cffe0-19a5-4fcd-a4f7-0843a5aab368\">the suspect and victim were co-workers.<\/a>&nbsp;It&#8217;s unclear what caused the shooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Dana Carter of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service Houston Division told the outlet that the agency is working with police on this case.<br><br>&#8220;Part of our partnership with [the Missouri City Police Department] is not only conduct a very thorough investigation, but make sure we protect the community at large, as well as our employees,&#8221;
