{"id":3487,"date":"2023-09-15T01:49:56","date_gmt":"2023-09-15T08:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abovecloud.xyz\/?p=3487"},"modified":"2023-09-15T01:49:57","modified_gmt":"2023-09-15T08:49:57","slug":"mexico-expresses-great-concern-after-u-s-daca-program-declared-unconstitutional","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abovecloud.xyz\/?p=3487","title":{"rendered":"Mexico expresses &#8220;great concern&#8221; after U.S. DACA program declared unconstitutional"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Mexico has expressed its &#8220;great concern&#8221; over a decision by the Federal Court for the Southern District of Texas in the United States to declare the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program unconstitutional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"299\" height=\"168\" src=\"https:\/\/abovecloud.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/\u56fe\u7247-19.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3488\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mexico&#8217;s Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement issued Wednesday night and disseminated Thursday on social media that it took &#8220;note of the decision with great concern,&#8221; noting it &#8220;impacts more than 580,000 people, the vast majority Mexican.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DACA is a program that grants undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children permission to live and work lawfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ministry announced it will promptly work to inform and provide consular protection, legal assistance and advice on the situation to DACA beneficiaries and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Judge Andrew Hanen, of the Texas court, rejected on Wednesday an appeal from President Joe Biden&#8217;s government and again declared DACA illegal. The ruling is expected to be appealed to the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DACA has been the subject of several political controversies.
